Rambutans spotted!

David spotted some beautiful Rambutans on a recent family trip to Barcelona to celebrate his birthday.

It was great to see such fresh Rambutans on European soil. These little beauties were front and centre of an amazing exotic fruit stall in La Boqueria Market, Barcelona. A very nice (and delicious) birthday surprise!

Joy of Alone

We Rambutans recently took a little personality test just for a bit of fun, and to see what kind of insight (if any) it could give us into ourselves, and each other. Kat was reflecting on the results. Called the Briggs Meyer 16 Personalities test, it’s formulated as a questionnaire where your responses are collated…

Is more always good?

Don’t miss the music by just chasing dollars. David reflects from the side of a piano in one of the UK’s busiest financial districts. I recently took the tube in London for a meeting at Canary Wharf in London. It was amazing to see the sheer volume of people flooding to the area as they headed to their…

September is national Friendship month

National Friendship month inspired Nicki to read about the importance of friendship in society.  What she discovered was quite surprising… The causes of modern social problems, from divorce to homelessness and obesity, are often thought to be rooted in areas such as poverty, stress or unhappiness. But researchers suggest we are overlooking something crucial: friendship. Loneliness is a growing problem…

Gemma and friends’ big ride!

Gemma and her cycling buddies have decided to get back on their bikes for another fundraising challenge. This time the girls are covering some serious mileage – 300 miles over 4 countries in 4 days  – whilst raising vital funds for Dementia UK. If you want to find out more or donate, take a look at Gemma’s JustGiving page. Gemma’s here…

Today I Learned…

Who knew there was a modern form of the phrase ‘Did you know’? Jami-Lei has been learning there are quite a lot of things we maybe didn’t know. Even as a ‘millennial’, I still come across phrases that have been on the internet for ages but haven’t yet crossed my path. Recently I watched a…

Time for fun when the going gets tough

Heavy job on? Getting bogged down? Take a breather! Nicki jumped up in the office the other day and randomly declared, “Right, everyone outside for a bit of fun!” Naturally, we all downed our tools/mice/laptops and followed her onto the balcony for a breather. It turned out to be a ‘wall’ exercise, where you squat…

Which social media platform are you?

In our bold and daring Rambutan way, we’ve matched our ideas on what your social media avatar might look like, depending on which social media channel rocks your world. Can you see yourself in our descriptions? Rambutan’s favourite social media sites are Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook – probably in that order! Twitter is great for…

Don’t step on a bee!

Here at Treetops, having a beautiful first-floor office with large patio doors opening onto a balcony is wonderful at any time, but at its absolute best in the summer. However, nothing represents a Rambutan Summer more than our Sue running around squealing at the sight of a bee or wasp in the room! Perhaps ‘Don’t step…

International Joke Day

July 1 saw International Joke Day… a celebration which Kat just couldn’t let pass by without a little nod to business jokes! A day in the office can be a tad tedious without some of the banter we’ve grown accustomed to! Jokes and pranks are standard in the Rambutan HQ, as we believe that having fun…

Bring your dog to work day

22 June marks the official ‘bring your dog to work day’. Nicki got thinking about whether her cockapoo, Cassie would be an ideal office pet to have around… Here at Rambutan, we often joke about having an office pet and up to now, we’ve had a cuddly toy as a substitute. The benefits of owning a…

A new friend in the garden

Lance was recently working from home with the patio doors open enjoying the sun when something caught his eye. It was a snake who was equally enjoying the East Yorkshire sun. It’s the first wild snake Lance had ever seen so he was quick off the mark to capture a quick snap before it slithered…
