So, how has 2019 shaped up so far for you? Have the planets aligned in your favour, or has it been a bit of an upheaval? Here’s Kat with more on this.
For us at Rambutan, it’s been all change; Treetops HQ has moved! To be fair, it was only next door, but still, an office move is an office move, and involves a huge amount of military-style operation, some patient and tolerant telephone conversations around the dreaded IT and communication networks, and copious amounts of tea, coffee and biscuits just to keep us going. We have a downstairs room full of various office bits and bobs that we’ll be looking for at some point, a new dishwasher that no one knows how to use yet, and some really exciting signage ideas for our front doors. All good stuff!
Now that we are well and truly settled into 2019 though, how focused are you for the coming year? Have the new year resolutions taken hold and become part of your business as usual or perhaps been abandoned to the depths of your memory?
For me, as with most people I’d imagine, a new year always signifies a refreshed approach to things. An excuse, if you like, to have a ‘spring clean’; ‘out with the old, in with the new’; all those clichés we love to remind ourselves of, but then totally forget within the first six weeks of the new year. Well, here we are now at least six weeks in, and so far, so good. There’s been lots happening, both inside and outside of work, but this year I’m planning on keeping a positive outlook whatever life throws at me and treating each new challenge/upheaval/change as an opportunity, a fresh start, a chance to prove to myself just how great I could really be if I focus and set my mind to it!
So, as the nights are starting to get lighter, and there are hints of spring in the air, here’s to focusing on making 2019 a year to improve, adapt and continue to seek new opportunities.
Now, where’s that 4-hole punch gone?
