July 1 saw International Joke Day… a celebration which Kat just couldn’t let pass by without a little nod to business jokes!
A day in the office can be a tad tedious without some of the banter we’ve grown accustomed to! Jokes and pranks are standard in the Rambutan HQ, as we believe that having fun at work is key to engagement and productivity. People will always work better when they can enjoy themselves at the same time. Since 1 July is International Joke Day (who knew?), I had a little look into some work/office-based humour. Enjoy!
A man turns to his co-worker and says, “I feel like punching the boss in the face again!”.
“Wow!” said the co-worker, “you mean you’ve punched him before?”
“No, I felt like punching him yesterday.”
I admired the candour of the department manager. I asked him how many staff worked in his area. He said about half of them!
In the consultancy office’s bathroom, a sign was put up above the sink, with just the word ‘Think’ on it. Next day, another was added near to it by someone, with just the single word. ‘Thoap’.
And I’ll leave you with this final one:
The boss, Mr Perkins was showing a new employee around the office. “Some might say I’m a little ‘old school’, but I don’t
believe in using first names here, they encourage slackness and a lowering of standards. You will refer to me as Mr Perkins and I will address you by your last name. Which is….?”
“Stuart Darling” replied the new employee.
“Welcome on board Stuart!” replied Mr Perkins!
Happy Joke Day! And thanks to ‘Man Walks Into a Bar’, by Stephen Arnott and Mike Haskins.
