At Rambutan, we’re immensely proud and delighted that Mark recently achieved his Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) accreditation. We managed to grab a quick chat with Mark about what this means.
Q: So what’s ESCI when it’s at home then, Mark?
It’s a well-renowned 360° assessment tool that’s linked to emotional intelligence.
As an individual, you can request an ESCI 360° assessment from your boss, peers, colleagues or clients/customers; in fact anyone, as long as they are people you work with on a regular basis who can comment on the frequency of an observed competency e.g. leading by inspiring people or remaining calm in stressful situations.
Q: How did you become an assessor and what does this mean?
My accreditation as an assessor came from Korn Ferry (part of the Hay Group) who, together with emotional intelligence expert Daniel Goleman, run courses for development and coaching professionals who want to help their clients become more effective team members and leaders.
As part of the two-day accreditation workshop, I was able to gain a practical understanding of the theory behind the tool and how to understand, interpret and deliver feedback to clients who have completed ESCI tools.
Q: Why did you become an ESCI https://premier-pharmacy.com/product-category/pain-relief/ accredited assessor?
Over the years, I’ve delivered numerous skills sessions for clients on emotional intelligence and it fed my desire to delve deeper. I discovered the 360° ESCI assessment tool and believed it would complement Rambutan’s own bespoke 360° leadership tool brilliantly as well as other team assessment tools.
In partnership with the senior leadership teams of many of our clients, we often deliver 360° interventions and coaching sessions. We wanted to enhance our offer to allow ESCI assessments to work alongside other tools such as Hogan assessments (a blog on this will follow shortly).
Q: How will this benefit our clients?
If any of our clients want to use the worldwide licensed ESCI assessment tool my accreditation allows me to manage and deliver this for them. I can interpret the results from the individual’s assessment and then help that person to follow through on the report recommendations which can be coaching and/or action planning. It’s a great benefit for the client and the individual with the cost for report collation and production from as little as £60 per person.
Thanks for your time Mark and congratulations again on achieving such a prestigious accreditation.
