Nicki noticed that 17th February was ‘Random acts of kindness’ day and was pleased to note it being worthy of it’s own day!
In case you missed it, I posted a blog a while ago about kindness, how contagious simple acts of kindness are; how our own and other people’s behaviours can be improved by showing kindness to others in so many different ways. I recently read about the health benefits of kindness. Did you know that people who are kind produce 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone) and age slower than the average population? It’s true. Engaging in acts of kindness actually lowers blood pressure and reduces stress. Science also shows that being kind rewards everyone with increased energy and well-being–even people viewing the kindness are infused with positive benefits.
