Rambutan are proud to announce we have chosen Dementia UK as our charity of the year 2016.
Our aim is to raise awareness and funds to support people with dementia. Dementia UK offer one-to-one support and expert advice for those living with dementia as well as their families and carers. Did you know?
- in the UK today about 850,000 people live with dementia (predicted to rise to 1.1 million by 2025)
- dementia is the leading cause of death in women in the UK
- one in three people over the age of 65 will develop dementia at some point
- there are over 100 different causes and types of dementia
We will be fundraising throughout the year with the Rambutan bunch taking part (or at least attempting to!) in numerous activities from sponsored cycle rides and go-karting (we are very https://imagineear.com/pharmacy/ competitive!) to cryptic treasure hunts and other adrenalin-fuelled events. There will also be an office ‘honesty swear box’ which we expect may raise the odd pound or two! We’ll be uploading pictures and stories of our fundraising activities (even the out-takes) so make sure you’re following our twitter feed and visiting our charity web page for all the latest news.
How you can support us
If you’d like to support us in our fundraising efforts, you can donate by visiting our JustGiving page or text RAMB51 £* to 70070, where * is your chosen amount. We’re also very happy for you to suggest fundraising activities (via our donation page) that the bunch could take part in. We’re really up for new ideas, the more challenging the better, though if we take up your challenge, we may be expecting a donation or two!
